| Thai Acrylic Fibre Co., Ltd. has developed Comfort fibers having special thermal properties for greater comfort. Fibers contain microencapsulated Phase Change Materials (PCMs) which are permanently entrapped in the fiber structure for enabling the temperature regulation benefit to be realized. When incorporated into clothing, these fibers interact with the skin’s temperature to provide a buffer against temperature swings. A Phase Change Material (PCM) is a substance with a high heat of fusion which on melting and solidifying (at a certain temperature) is capable of storing and releasing large amounts of energy. Heat is absorbed or released when the material changes from solid to liquid and vice versa. Application fields include apparels, foot-wears, beddings and automotives. |
